Natalie Bassingthwate was on promotional duty on Friday, and she made to turn heads while she was doing it. 

The singer and actress, 46, showed off her youthful looks at a media call for her new musical, Jagged Little Pill, at the Comedy Theatre in Melbourne.  

The former Neighbours star absolutely glowed as she posed outside the venue wearing a casually cool ensemble including an army green tank top.

She put on an army style shirt over the top, along with a pair of denim short shorts that flaunted her trim pins. 

Natalie, who also performed a few numbers outside the theatre, had on a pair of white sneakers, and skipped the accessories for a sporty look.  

The beauty had on a clean, bright makeup palette, with highlighted cheeks and pink lipstick, her line-free visage on display.

Last year, the pop star flew to New York to begin rehearsals for the Australian tour.

Natalie has been cast as the musical's lead, Mary Jane Healy, a housewife who tries to keep her family in a functional state while she deals with opioid addiction and past trauma. 

'I am beyond excited and privileged to be part of this incredible show,' the actress said after the casting news was confirmed.

'I have such admiration for the key creative team in Alanis, Diablo and Diane who have created a show full of heart, courage, determination, and a vulnerability which I am looking forward to bringing to the role of MJ.'

She went on to explain that she was a 'huge Alanis fan' and loved the Jagged Little Pill album when she was a young adult. 

'A time where I was discovering what sort of person I wanted to become, and I can't wait to be able to tell this story on stage through the incredible music and lyrics entertaining audiences but also filling them with hopeful inspiration,' she continued.

Natalie has previously performed on the stage in an Australian production of Chicago as the lead Roxie Hart.

She has also starred in local productions of Grease, Footloose and Rent. 

Following a run in Sydney, Jagged Little Pill opens at Melbourne's Comedy Theatre on Friday evening for a series of dates through to March before opening in Perth.
